Maori Design - Jade Maori Toki, made in Jade City
by Jade City Jade Store | Cassiar Mountain BC
This beautiful traditional Maori Toki was hand carved right here in Jade City by Cameron Hewitt. This piece is carved from jade mined at our 2 mile mine site.
The Toki was usually carved from stone and used by the leaders of Maori tribes as a building tool. The Toki (similar to a modern day adze) was an essential part of the Maori people’s survival and is now seen as a symbol of strength and leadership.
The pendant comes with a traditional Maori silk cord necklace that was hand braided by Cameron.
The piece measures H 5cm x W 2cm x D 0.5cm
