This beautiful traditional Maori Toki was hand carved right here in Jade City by Cameron Hewitt. Jade varies from a light pastel green, to almost black green. This is a very dark jade with subtle patterns.
The Toki was usually carved from stone and used by the leaders of Maori tribes as a building tool. The Toki (similar to a modern day adze) was an essential part of the Maori people’s survival and is now seen as a symbol of strength and leadership.
